ABOUT THE ARTIST: KIASMOS
Kiasmos was started in 2009 by Icelandic BAFTA-winning composer Ólafur Arnalds, known for his unique blend of minimal piano and string compositions with electronic sounds, and Janus Rasmussen from the Faroe Islands, known as the mastermind of the electro-pop outfit Bloodgroup. After a critically acclaimed self-titled debut in 2014, which re-envisioned minimal techno with orchestral flourishes and weightless production, their long-awaited second opus “II” released on July 5.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: ÓLAFUR ARNALDS
Icelandic composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Ólafur Arnalds explores the crossover from classical to pop by mixing chamber strings and piano with discreet electronics. In addition to forming the experimental techno duo Kiasmos with Janus Rasmussen, Arnalds has produced a magistral repertoire of spine-tingling neo-classical works and film scores since the late 2000s.

Hatshepsut is a mortuary temple also known as the ‘Holy of Holies’ in Egypt, and located near Luxor. Being around 3,500 years old, its architecture almost looks contemporary, with its symmetry contrasting with the rocky cliffs that overhang it.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: CARLITA
Carlita is a Turkish house DJ and producer from Istanbul. A classical musician and multi instrumentalist (drums, cello, bass and electric guitar), she experiments with a mix of live and electronic instruments in her productions, using different synths, sampled instruments, and field recordings from her travels. With early influences ranging from Turkish Psychedelia to Rock ‘n’ Roll, she combines an ever changing kaleidoscope of sounds and cultures into a driving electronic beat. Her signature eclectic, wordly sound and diverse musical background ensure her sets are always full of surprises, as she crafts a musical journey with each performance.

RY X was accompanied by Gene Evaro Jr & Tim Gardner and string quartet Graziela Fortunato, Paula Brunelli , Natalia Visoná , Thais Duarte for this live performance. For this special occasion, Ry composed Lençóis (Love Me). Writing the song, he "wanted to feel like it belonged to both (his) heart, and the waters and hills of this place:" "Creating and producing the song took on a life of its own spurred on by the images in my mind of these shapes of land and water". Lençóis (Love Me) became both "a cry of the heart to be understood deeply, especially to be taken in and held by the feminine unconditionally", and "a lament out to those lands in that same way too".

Hôtel des Invalides, located in the heart of Paris, is a historic complex originally built by Louis XIV in the 17th century as a hospital and military retirement home for war veterans. This majestic location features an impressive collection of air and space travel artefacts—notably the Ariane V rocket & the A380 and Concorde aircrafts that form the three stages of the festival. As a former airfield, it was the starting point for the first airline flights to Brussels and London in 1919 and witnessed Charles Lindbergh's historic North Atlantic flight in 1927.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: JAMIE JONES
A globally respected and highly accomplished artist, label boss at the seminal Hot Creations, founder and curator of the worldwide Paradise event series and member of cross-genre band Hot Natured, the Welsh DJ and producer Jamie Jones has achieved iconic status in the electronic music world. The hypnotic quality of his sets stems from his immersion in the infamous mid-00s East London warehouse party scene and later on his pivotal presence in the Ibiza club scene.

ABOUT THE LOCATION: PLIVA WATERFALLS, JAJCE, BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA
The Jajce Waterfalls are located in the town of Jajce, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the Pliva and Vrbas rivers meet. The falls drop about 20 meters into a turquoise pool below. Situated in the heart of Jajce, they are surrounded by historic sites, including a medieval fortress and old town architecture.
